About the Role

\n

Brooksource is seeking (2) Senior/Lead AI Engineers to support a Fortune 5 healthcare and insurance client on their Desktop of the Future (DoTF) initiative.

\n

\n

This is a new, early-stage project being built from the ground up, offering the opportunity to help shape a new AI solution from its initial stages through production. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who is comfortable working in an evolving environment and helping establish the foundation for a new initiative.

\n

\n

Primary Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Define the technical strategy and architecture for the Desktop of the Future (DoTF) initiative and lead the design, development, and deployment of the AI application.
\n
• Build AI capabilities including AI Assist, agent-assist, copilots, virtual assistants, next-best-action, call summaries, and intelligent automation.
\n
• Design and build AI solutions leveraging LLMs, with RAG, semantic search, vector databases, and enterprise knowledge retrieval as applicable.
\n
• Develop AI-powered workflows, agentic workflows, conversational AI, and intelligent automation.
\n
• Evaluate and optimize AI solutions for accuracy, reliability, performance, and response time.
\n
• Integrate AI with enterprise applications, APIs, knowledge sources, and business workflows.
\n
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Engineering, UX, and business teams to define and implement AI solutions.
\n
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship and establish best practices for AI development, testing, deployment, and scalability.
\n
• Establish AI evaluation, security, governance, and responsible AI practices.
\n
• Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, regulatory, HIPAA, and PHI requirements.
\n

Ideal Candidate Profile

\n

\n
• Hands-on Senior/Lead AI Engineer with experience building LLM-powered & agentic AI solutions in a customer service, contact center, or healthcare/insurance environment.
\n
• Experience supporting real-time customer or member interactions is especially valuable, but not required.
\n
• Comfortable working in an early-stage environment, taking ownership, and helping shape a new AI solution from the ground up.
\n

\n

Minimum Qualifications

\n

\n
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience with AI/ML/GenAI.
\n
• 3+ years in a senior technical, lead, or architecture role.
\n
• Hands-on experience working with LLMs such as GPT, Claude, Gemini, or Llama.
\n
• Proven experience leading the technical design and architecture of AI solutions, from early-stage development through production.
\n
• Experience with agentic AI, AI agents, conversational AI, or intelligent automation.
\n
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and business stakeholders.
\n

Preferred Experience

\n

\n
• Experience with AI Assist, agent-assist, copilots, virtual assistants, or next-best-action solutions.
\n
• Experience with contact center, customer service, or member service solutions.
\n
• Healthcare insurance industry experience, particularly in regulated environments.
\n
• Experience with RAG, semantic search, vector databases, or enterprise knowledge retrieval.
\n
• Experience optimizing AI apps for performance, response time, accuracy, and reliability.
\n
• Experience with Python, LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or LlamaIndex.
\n
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
\n
• Full-stack development experience, including Java/ReactJS/MongoDB, is a plus.
\n
