Learning and Development Manager

New York, NY | Full Time | On Site

Base Salary up to $100,000 + Quarterly Bonus Eligibility

Consulting by Frank Marino & Associates is conducting a confidential search for a Learning and Development Manager on behalf of an established specialty food retailer in New York City.

We are seeking an engaging, hands-on training professional who can build relationships, coach frontline employees and turn existing training programs into consistent execution across multiple locations.

The Opportunity

Working closely with HR, a training coordinator and store leadership, this person will strengthen customer service, reinforce operating standards and develop learning paths that help employees grow within the organization.

Much of the training content is already developed. The primary focus is implementing programs, coaching teams and ensuring employees can apply what they learn in their daily work.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver practical training for frontline retail and customer service employees.
\n
• Coach teams on customer engagement, service standards and operating procedures.
\n
• Partner with managers to reinforce learning and support consistent execution.
\n
• Implement and refine existing training materials.
\n
• Develop learning paths by position and support employees preparing for advancement.
\n
• Support management development and future company growth.
\n
• Maintain courses, SOPs and resources within the company’s learning management system.
\n
• Observe performance in the field, provide feedback and assess employee understanding.
\n
• Coordinate with HR to connect onboarding with ongoing job training.
\n

Ideal Background

\n
• Experience delivering hands-on training in retail, hospitality, food service or a similar customer-facing environment.
\n
• An approachable coaching style and the ability to connect with employees at different experience levels.
\n
• Strong communication, writing and presentation skills.
\n
• Ability to translate training materials into clear, practical instruction.
\n
• Experience gaining manager support and following through on implementation.
\n
• Strong organization and comfort balancing office responsibilities with field training.
\n

Operations leaders with a strong record of coaching and developing teams are encouraged to apply. Experience with a learning management system is helpful.

Schedule and Compensation

• Primarily Monday through Friday during daytime hours.
\n
• Approximately 40–50 hours per week, based on business needs.
\n
• Travel between company locations within New York City.
\n
• Flexibility for occasional weekend and holiday work.
\n
• Base salary up to $100,000, with potential flexibility for relevant experience.
\n
• Quarterly bonus eligibility.
\n
• Company support for transportation between work locations.
\n
